Anyway, that’s all I wanted to say. HiveMC isn’t the featured server for today, but it’s noteworthy anyway.
I read this book about a year ago, but now’s as good a time as any to review it. The Hunger Games trilogy is still popular, so I’m making this for everyone that’s thinking about reading it.
For those that liked the action-packed drama of the last two, The Hunger Games and Catching Fire, this book is a big change. There’s a huge twist in the story at the beginning, when District 13 is revealed to still exist, which is a difference in and of itself, but the rest of the book is, quite simply, a war novel. Sure, it’s still Katniss and Peeta, but this is definitely made for older readers. The very end was quite a bit violent, especially for me since I hate fire. There’s also a lot of dirty politics involved, which I don’t like that much, but it’s growing on me.
That isn’t to say that it’s better or worse than the other books. It’s just different, and there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s a necessary ending to the trilogy, and it’s a great book. It’s just a big change for Suzanne Collins.
For good story, a perfect ending to the series, but taking marks off for some dull parts spent underground in District 13, I give Mockingjay four stars. This is definitely re-read-able.
Thanks for reading!
P.S. I’ll also be doing a review on the movie when it comes out. It’s split up into two parts!!
This movie ROCKED!!! I was a Hunger Games fan before they made the movie – well, the second one in any case – so I wanted to go see it even more than I would if I had only seen the movie. It was incredible. The actors were perfect, the dialogue was great, and almost every scene played out exactly how it did in the book. It’s very accurate and the animation and feeling is awesome. My favorite part was the part at the two o’ clock segment with the fog. It was terribly realistic, and even though I knew exactly what was going to happen since I’d read all the books, it was super exciting. I’d say that for pretty much the entire movie. I especially love the ending. No one saw that coming. The District 13 deal is very cool, of course, but the surprise ending to the Quarter Quell was a total twist. When my mom was reading it, she was skeptical because she didn’t see how there was enough space left to finish the Hunger Games. And then BOOM! The whole story turns around. If you’re A Hunger Games fan, go see this immediately. If you’re not, go see it anyway.
For awesome action, heart-pounding drama, and of course, great actors, but taking marks off for bad language that wasn’t in the book, this movie is four and a half stars.
Thanks for reading! I’ll post more reviews and fiction soon!
P.S. I can’t wait for Mockingjay to come out!!!
